Short Version . . .
Hi! I’m a born and raised Pittsburgher currently living here with my husband after raising two wonderful sons who are now off to college and their own creative roles. My journey in web design began after a “paper to digital” project that fell into my lap while I was manging an office at a small cleaning company. It pushed me to take the skills and passion I discovered during that project to pursue my Baccalaureate degree in Web Integrations and Design from Penn State, which I proudly completed in 2021. Woohoo.
Since 2020, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various creative and technical roles. I started as a Jr. Web Designer at a medical software company, where I quickly became involved in high-impact projects and was promoted to the Web and UX designer role for the company. Long Version …
How it Started...
Before entering the world of design, I managed operations at a small cleaning company, where I led the transition from paper records to a digital system using Field Service Management software. Organizing data, creating efficient workflows, and eliminating costly errors brought immediate clarity and momentum to stagnating tasks. I found it incredibly satisfying to see how streamlined operations could transform a business. That experience sparked my curiosity – I wanted to learn how these systems worked and how to implement them professionally. It’s what led me to pursue my degree and ultimately shift into the world of digital design and content strategy.
My Recent Experience
I’m a detail-oriented, collaborative web and content designer who thrives on structure, quality, and teamwork. Over the last 4 years, I’ve designed and developed engaging WordPress websites, created user-friendly UI prototypes, crafted social media graphics, and contributed to measurable improvements in page performance and user experience. I take pride in delivering high-quality results—on time, every time – by following proven strategies, thinking critically, and collaborating closely with my team.
One of my most rewarding projects was redesigning the front desk interface of an EMR software system. I led the creation of a design system that simplified complex workflows, making tasks easier for frontline medical staff. I leaned into my natural tendency to research thoroughly, organize information clearly, and collaborate with others to ensure the redesign was grounded in user feedback and implemented with precision. I’m at my best when working within a defined structure to improve efficiency, elevate quality, and deliver real, human-centered results.
I care deeply about doing things right – not just fast – and I’m motivated by being part of something bigger than myself. I’m often described as reliable, encouraging, and easy to work with. Whether I’m helping a team launch a website or assisting someone one-on-one, I naturally empathize, communicate positively, and strive to make things better for others.
Earlier Work History / Experience
Before stepping into the design and content world, I held a wide range of hands-on roles that shaped my work ethic and honed my adaptability. I’ve been a waitress, banquet manager, office assistant, housekeeper, line cook, and front desk administrator – all while raising two kids and pursuing my education. These jobs taught me the value of responsibility, teamwork, and staying calm under pressure. I’ve consistently taken on leadership roles and earned trust by being dependable, thorough, and dedicated to doing things right.
What I'm up to now: Summer 2025 - Looking for work
I’m currently seeking a long-term role in web design, marketing, or digital content strategy—either in Pittsburgh, PA or remote within the U.S. I’m looking for a mission-driven company where I can continue to grow, contribute, and collaborate with a supportive team. I’m especially drawn to roles where I can improve operational workflows, develop clear and engaging communication, and deliver creative work that aligns with organizational goals.
I currently work part-time at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s front desk, supporting staff, dancers, and students. It’s a fulfilling role that keeps me connected to the arts, offers new people-focused experiences, and comes with one wonderful benefit: free adult ballet and fitness classes! Outside of work, you’ll find me dancing, hiking, creating, or spending time with my family and rescue dog, Sasha.
